Both are American citizens, unlike the git on CNN at 9 (and maybe even Mr.
Varney on FBC?).

Oliver is an interesting option for the post-Dave "Late Show", but it does
beg the question whether a late-night blocked helmed by f'rrners. I mean,
I'm a huge fan of both Oliver and Ferguson, but...to use a hugely worn-out
cliche, will it play in Peoria? (Or, I suppose, really, Omaha or Topeka

I've heard that theory mentioned before, but I've never once heard it from Dave or Craig, or anybody associated with them in any official capacity.Doug FieldsTampa, FL

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't SCG get first dibs/right of first
refusal at 11:35 per his most recent contract? (I know Craig has said he
doesn't WANT 11:35, but technically he's got the right to it.)

I blame the pinheads at GE for that...

TV or Not TV The
This is outstanding. Thank you. Here's my one follow-up. Assume that Host Dave
decides to retire (at the end of whatever contract that might be) and WWP and
CBS agrees to continue their deal. Has Dave ever indicated that he'd look at
the new person as either "the second host of The Late Show" or

I over-generalized with the word "owns". Your interpretation is correct. My
core question is which of these three statements is the most accurate:
A. There's one contract that covers Dave and WWP, and it runs through 2014.
B. There are two contracts (one for Dave, one for WWP) that run
concurrently
preference for a successor, I've never heard anything beyond second- and third-hand rumors. Not that that necessarily means anything, but I do try to keep up with stuff like that.Doug FieldsTampa, FL
