Ok, further to emails below, i had a bit of self doubt because i seem

I want to make a website closely tied with Twitter. I want users to
signin, using Oauth. People can import there tweets on this site and
also comment on others tweets.
How can I make such a website?
I would like to use Drupal to do it..
Any ideas?
You need to allow PHP to access 3rd party (external) domains and grab files
from them.
In your php.ini you should change this:
allow_url_fopen = Off
To:
allow_url_fopen = On
Also, if your host allows you to place php.ini files in the directory just
put this in a new php.ini file.

Thanks for the info, but this is a desktop app that runs on users'
machines. The 20K whitelist would apply.

Hello,
I have been using the Ruby OAuth gem to handle Twitter authentication
via OAuth. Most of the time it works fine. But there are a number of
times in which a 408 Request Timeout error is thrown.
This is thrown during either the "Consumer Requests Request Token"
step or the "Consumer Reques
In the same way that Twitter ditched "replies" for "mentions", they
should ditch the concept of a reply to a tweet, and instead let people
"attach" or "refer" to a specific tweet, which would then be included
along with the new tweet.
This fixes a number of different problems.

I am having the same issue since yesterday, I always get a 408 or 403
error. Any idea?
Thanks.
For those who are using TTYtter as an app platform, 0.9.7 was released today
which will be the final feature release for the 0.9 branch. Bug fixes only
will land for 0.9.8 and 0.9.9, after which the branch will be discontinued
in favour of the (hopefully then stabilized) 1.0.x series.

You can use the OR syntax.
Example: #hash OR #hashtag OR #hash_1

Hi Andreo,
First, bumping up posts is considered rude and often times people will not
help because of bumping your post.
Second, please supply *header responses* and as much specific technical
information as possible. That will help the smart people on this list solve
your problem. What you desc
I should note, recreating the functionality of a twitter profile page is
very easy due to the nature of the API.

Is it possible to load my twitter profile page in an iframe on another
site? I really like the twitter page and want to show it off as is
(maybe a bit smaller) - but almost in full - is this possible? I
wouldn't want to violate any copyrights or anything.
Thanks.

Hey all,
Is there a search method for doing a partial word match? Best I can
tell, you can only match full words.
For example, if I search for #hash, I'd like to match #hash, #hashtag,
and #hash_1.
Thanks!
I get the following when destroying a status:
/statuses/destroy/2156096232.xml
We could not delete that status for some reason.
But contrary to the returned response, the status *is* deleted from
Twitter.com. I've tested using MGTwitterEngine and curl with two
different accounts.

Hi
Our production server (that serves thousands of Twitter users) is
recently getting many 'connection refused' errors from Twitter.
We use multiple IP addresses (all white-listed).
This happens on different requests

Hmm, no, a good idea though. i'm using a python wrapper, it's pretty
exposed, i've cut out any cacheing in the course of debugging this
issue.
Well, this looks like a bug with me, otherwise this list would be a
whole lot more alive today.

How are you calling twitter? Directly or via a wrapper like
EpiTwitter. I had problems with EpiTwitter effectively caching
requests. I had to go after particular elements in the result for it
to actually make/return the request.

Ok, further to email below, i'm not able to post follow requests
either, it comes back with success, but no database update seems to
have occurred.
Pretty much looks like any POST request just isn't happening, even
though twitter is coming back with friendly responses.

On 29 Aug 2009,
I'm new to python and just want to install the twitter module, but no
one on here explains how, probably because this is a common function
for veterans.
How do I install this or any module? I've downloaded the tar file to
my downloads folder on my mac.
thanks
Would 20,000 API GET requests per hour be sufficient for your
application? If you are checking for spammers rather than being one, I
would think twitter would gladly white-list you!
