I am using the twitter api (http://twitter.com/friendships/destroy/ user.xml) to successfully unfollow a user for an account.
The problem is that twitter does not decrease the friends_count when I get the extended user information for the authenticating user. The number is however decreased by one if I log in as the user and look at the following count on twitter.com/home. Can anyone tell me what is causing this? And if it is a known but, is there another way of finding the correct friends_count?
