I've pushed out TTYtter 0.9.0 tonight, which is a large update to the TTYtter
pure Perl command line client and platform. This version not only corrects
several bugs, but also adds API rate limit polling and autothrottling, URL
shortening, readline terminal support (for cursor key editing, TAB completion
and enhanced history), additional support for full-screen clients like ssfe
and a streamlined and more efficient background polling engine.

Because this introduces some dramatic rejiggering of Twitter's functionality
(and there is at least one outstanding bug I have not been able to reliably
monitor), I have also chosen to release a "stable" 0.8.5 that includes the
bug fixes but no new features. This version fixes a problem with UTF-8
handling and spurious error messages for people who had no DMs.

There are no significant changes to the API for this edition, so projects
using TTYtter as the backend should not require modification.

You can get 0.8.5 and 0.9.0 from

Comments and suggestions are as always welcome.
