The TWSocket is in a different thread then my main thread. So I think I
might've made some race condition somewhere and was wondering if you guys
could tell me some of the problems that may generate an access violation in
that part of the code.

Are you sure you dont have a duplicate copy of WSocket.pas where source
is a little different ? It should be possible to catch the exception. If
you cannot it has somethign to do with the debugger looking in a source
that is not the DCU.
