[TYPO3] eco_gal 0.7.1 error was FE blank suddenly, BE OK

I turned on the php error display, and found that the updating today of the eco_gal extension, Ecodev: photo gallery express version 0.7.1, from the repository caused the issue. I backtracked versions and all is well with the world. Best regards -- Tony

I don't really see the relationship between "keeping it simple" and offering a multitude of upgrade options?? Besides, people have all kinds of Typo3 versions installed. Are you asking the team to make one package for each 3.8.x variant and also 4.0.x, and then each 4.1.x? What if I have 3.6.1?
