[TYPO3] pdfgenerator2 & tv_pdfgen but no css

If I understand the documentation correctly, css should work with pdfgenerator_2, but its not for us. We've tried it on a couple of typo3 4.1x sites running the latest tv, the pdf page is generated, we just lose any css styling. Has anyone run into this before? Thank you. Simon _
