I think whether you like a forum, a mailing list or a newsgroup is just
a matter of taste.
Did you try using a newsreader to access the newsgroup which holds all
messages ever sent through the mailing lists?

I think would have to provide an HTML5 compatible alternative to
css_styled_content, but I may be wrong with this assumption.
