[TYPO3] general advice on spam protection for forms

Hello, Does anyone maybe know of a good way to protect forms from spam messages. I tried adding the jb_fespam plugin, but I am afraid that doesn't work. Spam keeps flowing in through mailing list, contact form and guestbook. Is there maybe a plug in which allows to add those pictures that ask the
