Could the described behaviour be a result of a incompatibility
between typo 4.5 and PHP 5.4? Or is it something else? Because

The fluid tags are functioning, by the the way. The
for-viewhelper for example is trying to start - but because he
can't parse the fluid variable, he thinks I'm trying to feed him
a string with {array}...

thanks a lot for your help. I finally found the culprit in
ext:ExtDevEval (file: ext_localconf.php). Couldn't find it initially
because I'm working with remote sources in my IDE, and I didn't download
all ext. files. Issue is already listed on forge.
