[TYPO3-english] How to edit a 8-bit PNG graphic with colortype 6 = RGB+alpha?

Hi, how can I open a 8-bit PNG image file in a reasonable way to make some modifications? It is of type RGB+alpha and has transparency information. Photoshop shows that transparency but doesn't create an alpha layer for it. Who can shed light on this? Any links? Any way? A lot of people in the
