I had the same issue. For me, it meant the default PHP configuration did
not have certain extensions activated by default that Typo3 depends on.
I moved a copy of the default /usr/local/lib/php.ini file to

I have a Text with Images content element with X number of images.
Typo3 renders and sorts these images based on filename. I would like to
change the ascending sorting to random sorting.
How can I sort (1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4.jpg) randomly to render as (2.jpg,
4.jpg, 1.jpg, 3.jpg), etc.

Unfortunately, this is hard code stuff. You need to look at the source code
powermail template. Usually, I copy the default template and modify the copied
version just incase. Good lick.

Did you create a domain record for each different website? For every root page
website, you should always have a domain record, so that Typo3 can determine
which website you want to publish. Good luck.
