I realize I can still update my template. But the problem is the old box makes
a copy of it. I don't want to have to go tracking down copies in places other
than my templates folder. We reuse our templates all the time for new sites.
I'd just rather not make a mess of the whole

clean install of typo3, clean install (from the repository through the
extension manager) of tt_news.
I went as far as downloading tt_news from a site where it does work correctly
and then loaded that into the site it doesn't. Changed nothing.
very odd...
