Hello Sir,
Well, when I use the SSH Secure Shell (Version 3.2.0) my arrow keys are
configured for some special characters. Can I configure them in such a way that
instead of displaying special characters, they need to move in their respective
directions.

Can anyone tell me if there's any known incompatibilities (problems) between

Thanks George for responding. The link appears to "do" something because
A) If I make it a .txt file it brings it up
B) If I make it a .bat file it executes it. I can make it print "Hello" a
hundred times in a DOS window (then die).
What I can't make it do it seems is RUN a universe subroutine.
Colin, Marylin,
I tested this on SBServer/SBClient GUI version 5.3.6 - TU.VT220.GUI
emulation - UV/AIX, using SE from a GUI menu and the /PD.P process editing
tool. There was no problem using the Alt-Num_keypad to generate any
extended ascii character, including char 251-254 (@tm, @sm, @vm & @am).
In reply to the original question about a full screen editor, you can use
the UniDebugger. It has a full screen editor, and has some limited ways to
deal with Value and sub-value marks.
Note it is part of the client package. I am not sure if IBM has the
personal addition available at the moment,
Only if you're working in "gui" mode. In character mode it works for VM's (but
for some strange reason - perhaps my emulation) it doesn't work for SVM's.

Colin.. Thanks. I did notice that in reading these responses. That there were
possible key strokes I could use. I tested this and with SBClient it doesn't
work as hitting the ALT takes you up to the windows File Menu. Just an FYI.

Hi Kathy,

Thank you all for your assistance.
Now I know how to enter value and subvalue marks in Universe's ED.
I ended up using ED to edit the file.

While in the ED editor, CTRL + SHIFT + 6 will insert an attribute mark,
CTRL + ] will insert a multi-value mark and CTRL + \ will insert a
sub-value mark.

I don't think that universe on NT includes any form of VI, or any other full
screen editor out of the box. You can make your changes using ED, as some
other respondants have demonstrated, but if you don't want to learn ED
incantations, you could copy your items to a type 1 file (similar to a DIR

Scott,
In ED, use "^253" for a Value Mark, "^252" for a Subvalue Mark.
E.G. if you type "A ^253data", ED will add another MultiValue, contents
"data", to the end of the line.
To see marks in that format, use the "^" toggle at the ED prompt

Scott,
you can replace a value mark or sub value mark by using
^253 and ^252 respectively , for example R/^253// will replace the first
value mark with null.
There is always the UniDebugger.

Hi Scott,
You should try out Accuterm. I couldn't live without it!

You can get a free 30 day trial version, single person license is only about

You can type ^ then return this will display your multivalues as

to replace the first value marker with the word test you would type the
following R/^253/test
to revert to you multivalue view type ^ again
hope this help.

I am not sure if I have seen a UV full-screen editor.
The way to edit records in U2 is via ED.
Use "I" to insert a field, "D" to delete a field.
Use "C/12345/24689" to change a value from "12345" to "24689".
Use "FI" to save when done.
It takes some practice and it is important to be careful w
