Hi Bas, The transitions have been handled manually so far. Thanks for this tracker, it seems a better way to handle things.

Triggered by the recent spatialite-gui report, I've setup an experimental transition tracker for the ubuntugis-unstable PPA to check the state of the other packages. Currently only trusty and xenial are checked, precise is not worth the effort IMNSHO: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/trusty/ http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/xenial/ For trusty seems to need some more rebuilds, xenial is looking good for the xenial packages in the PPA. Unfortunately the ben tool used for the transition trackers, is not able to handle the Ubuntu repositories + PPA repo setup well, it can only use the Packages files from the PPA, so you don't see the other reverse dependencies available in Ubuntu that haven't been rebuild with the library package in the PPA. Compare the list of affected packages in the trackers for Debian unstable, Ubuntu trusty & xenial (with the 'good' checkbox checked): * GDAL transition unstable: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/html/gdal.html trusty: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/trusty/html/gdal.html xenial: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/xenial/html/gdal.html * GEOS transition unstable: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/html/geos.html trusty: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/trusty/html/geos.html xenial: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/xenial/html/geos.html * GRASS transition unstable: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/html/grass.html trusty: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/trusty/html/grass.html xenial: http://linuxminded.nl/tmp/pkg-grass-transitions/ubuntugis-unstable/xenial/html/grass.html Notice how libgdal-grass is missing for xenial for example. How are transitions in UbuntuGIS handled currently? Kind Regards, Bas
