Hi Alex,
Thanks very much. I didn't know about apt pinning so I will investigate
further and try and apply it to a downgraded version of PHP and apache
so that my mapscript will be compatible.
Much appreciated

Hi all,
I submitted this under a different thread last week but I see that it
pertains to the issues raised in this thread as well.
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit) and it automatically updated my
apache to 2.4.6. That caused my PHP version to stop working correctly so
I upgraded that to PHP 5.
Thanks Johan for removing it quickly. I thought the backport wouldn't
cause any problem. Sorry about that.
Thanks to Bas too for pointing the commit to fix the packages in
Precise. I'll work on that right away.

These commands were introduced in php5 (>= 5.4.0~rc6-1).

Thanks Johan for the removing. I agree that apache 2 (and other non-gis
packages) shouldn't be in ubuntugis.

Jerome,
I think we should not include apache2 in ubuntugis: this is an
important server package with an enormous amount of reverse
dependencies.
Moreover we can not provide the necessary security updates that a
package like apache2 requires.

I tried to update MapServer and also seem to have also updated apache2 from
the ppa at the same time. I wasn't watching what I was doing.
The apache2 update has broken apache. Luckily this is my sandbox server with
nothing that important on it. :)

Hi,
I can't really say. I don't have much time for UbuntuGIS currently. That's
also why the update to Saucy is going slowly.
I'll try to find some time after Christmas to at least push mapserver.
Sorry for the delay.

Will it be built for precise any time soon?
