I notice the speech is much better using espeak.
I am having a problem as follows.
Sometimes after getting the drum sound at login.
After entering my user name and password I get no sound.
The system seems to freeze.

128MB ram, 20GB hard disk.
I used the UBUNTU 6.10 live cd for installing ubuntu on my hard disk. I am
unable to install UBUNTU because the cd hangs with a brown screen after the
