I don't have any experience about speech accessibility, but I have
configured gdm in karmic to start mousetweaks with the onscreen keyboard.
However, mousetweaks is telling me that at-spi is not running for
several weeks. Could that also be the cause of the problem discussed in
this thread?
My test results is following:
I removed libgnome-speech7 package temporary, because need test with
this feature with new default speech-dispatcher speech backend. When I
removed my .orca folder with /var/lib/gdm directory, restart the system.
When gdm started, Orca talks the speech-dispatcher ba

I solved this problem my machine, I hope help anybody my method or fix

1. I look what place stores gdm with default settings. This directory is
/var/lib/gdm in Ubuntu Karmic.
