Dear List,
Yesterday, I try playing with accessible login feature and
Speech-dispatcher support. I not would like change Ubuntu default method
with Pulseaudio and Speech-dispatcher startup.
I setted up following with accessible login feature and screen reader
support:
sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 -s
Hi. I no longer run Ubuntu, but my best guess is pulseaudio grabbed your sound
card.
I don't see this problem running Debian. Debian will still let me use alsa
instead of pulseaudio, and speakup is part of the Debian kernel.

Hi,
Mvo promised that this panel switcher problem will be fixed in Lucid, I know
that compiz still has some conflicts with application specific keybindings (for
example firefox table navigation

Lets work to fix compiz keybinding issues for
Hello all all,
Here is how I turn off kernel mode setting. First, I find out which video
driver I am using via lsmod. I my case it is the i915 driver. Next, I
add an append statement in grub that looks like
i915.modeset=0
Now you should have control over your display again when you restart.

While I get no speech when pressing keys, when I restart the system from the
consul, speakup does start to speak as the system is shuting

Hi, Arky. Someone just pointed out this problem in my Vinux/Ubuntu
Lucid ISO. I turned off "Static Application Switcher", and turned on
"Application Switcher", and reassigned Tab to
next_panel, and Tab to prev_panel.
The results are awesome. I've been using the Compiz magnifier for
over a year,
