Hi,
Seems that the problem happens if you use the same login to access speakup
and the GUI interface.
If you use a login in speakup different than the login used
speakup.
This is a strange problem.

I agree with Ignasi Cambra's comment. I am only subscribed to the
ubuntu accessibility list with the purpose of keeping up with linux
development without getting all the extra email.

, maybe when I am just reading up and down in text.
What I'm curious about is if anyone here has found that some
distributions, ubuntu dapper, fedora, etc work better than others with
regards to accessibility and usability and if you might be able to
recommend one to me.

Hello
Pidgin main window closes when you press alt f4. If you close that
window, I assume you are wanting to close the application. So instead
of alt f4 press ctrl q to close the window. That way it opens back up
when you start the client again.

Hello
I downloaded the ubuntu disk image from the website www.ubuntu.com.
It was ok installing it, but after that, it is not starting. I am
guessing that accessibility is still broken in this copy. I would
just like someone to tell me how I might find a working copy.
Thank you

Why couldn't they learn using traditional qwerty or dvorak which is
much cheaper.
That would be easier than typing 6 key entry on a full sized keyboard
with a bunch of other keys for the user to trip over and get confused
by.
