I think I know how the mac works like that. When the mac starts up it starts a
timer in the background which counts down maybe 10 or 20 seconds or so. If you
do nothing, it triggers voiceover to start up. first it plays some audio files
of a guy saying: if you are blind and want to use voiceo

Since orca works on the lxde desktop, are there any plans on making an

Hi,
Knoppix-adriane also works good. perhaps a version of ubuntu with the lxde
desktop and orca included? I think lxde is much more responsive than gnome is
and works good with orca. the only distro that lets us use lxde is currently
knoppix adriane.

Hi,
I think in the next release when ubuntu live cd/dvd starts up it should detect
the sound card then say: if you're blind do this to start the live cd with orca
and dothat to start the installer with orca. make it more like the mac with
voiceover kind of.

Hi,
I read that with KDE4 there would be a screen reader. Will dubuntu or
xubuntu ever be accessible? Preferably kubuntu well all three. I am holding

Would RedHat be a good option for people running on low ram like machines

Hi,
It would be cool if say we did not want to use the live cd, it would be cool
if there were a version of ubuntu that could be run in live mode and be
installed if you wanted to, from a USB stick.

Hi,
Or better yet, why not include orca on the xubuntu live cd and set it
so that orca starts when you boot xubuntu? or add a keyboard command
to start orca when xubuntu is booted.
