As per the previous chat, they'd rather look into it and get a 'correct' fix, than someone do a 'workaround'. In the additional information part of the bug report, please put on that you are filing the bug report as per a request from #ubuntu+1 you can also put in the name of the person I was chatting to. in your case, from the terminal it will be ubuntu-bug alsa To generate the bug report. You do need to have a launchpad login, but after that, it is pretty much all automatic, it will take details from your computer and attach it to the bug-report for the developers to look into.
