Also, sorry for top-posting. I've seen some people get in a huff about it
here -- I've never heard a complaint anywhere else so it's a new thing for
me, and I don't understand why it's harmful in the first place. (It's the
default behaviour in many email clients, to boot.)

I've noticed over time that many, many SVGs render differently in Nautilus
than they do in Inkscape. I always just figured the Nautilus SVG renderer is
half-assed and that nobody really cares -- the same seems to be true of
Firefox, which renders SVGs very differently from Inkscape as well.
