but I do not think you should apply that goal to EVERY element or widget
in the whole system, but rather look on the use of colors, gradients,
wallpapers etc. - the elements that make up the most of the impression.
Just my five cents.

My desktop is kinda backwards, it works fine the other way around, just
did it this way around because of the system-status screenlet placement
vs the wallpaper...

Hi,
I was just thinking, it would have been great with a Dust-emerald theme,
which looks like DiEmerald theme, only with the correct colors to fit
with the Dust GTK theme. Here is what it looks atm:
http://portefolje.net/div/fusion.jpg
Just replacing the brown color with a grey dusty one, would
ilable in larger formats?
Like 1440x900?
I like it, the wooden background could have some less contrast, and the
logo could maybe have been incorporated in a better way, but I like the
sharpness, the wood, the abstract art of it...

the colours, and the cleanness of it. However I'm not too fond of
the brush-paint style. I would prefer some technique which makes the
surfaces appear more smooth, and maybe some light effects to improve the
quality.
Just my five cents.

Hi there, one thing: The bottom panel seems to have "real transparency",
as you see windows beneath it, could this be possible to implement for
8.04? It would certainly look neat...

Hi there. Think it looks very good, although I don't like the wallpaper
at all (it is over-used and not at all something we should use in 8.04).
This theme with a better wallpaper and merged window-top & menu, would
be really neat.

radical, some like it Vista-ish, some like it OSX-ish. Thorsten also has
a point, we need to make decisions as well. Decisions should be based

you can choose to minimize the effects used and increase performance.
Linux and Gnome in general has this advantage built-in, people can do

Also I doubt Hardy Herron will be using any dock, as the main focus with
this release is stability and improvements, rather than innovation (as
Compiz Fusion in Gutsy Gibbon).
If we were to use a dock, I would recommend Avant Window Navigator

Hi,
Many thanks for helping out Ken!

niel Moore, I know exactly what you mean... I also like some more
minimalistic themes. A good minimalistic theme might look very cool.

didn't make any minimize/maximize-icons yet, I really don't think we

it's a good idea to provide a dark theme. Personally
I don't use dark themes much, although it does happen, but I know people
who do use it. It should be the user's choice...
Thanks!
