I have made some progress with this Internet modem (but I'm not there
yet).
Firstly I established the current sierra modem driver version in each of
my two computers using the terminal command: 'modinfo sierra'
PC1 with 10.04LTS: v1.3.8
PC2 with 12.04LTS: v.1.7.16
I then referred to the Sierra
Just to reiterate a comment I made to this thread previously. Are you
sure the APN is not telstra.internet?? There is a difference between
modems sold by Telstra and those sold by Big Pond. If you bought it at a
Telstra shop it will be a Telstra one with an APN of telstra.internet
