Remember that VLC backport, and the whole i386 buildd weird failure problem? Well, VLC apparently suffered that too, same errors in buildlog. As a result, I'd like to request VLC to be rebuilt, the current breezy-backports version, NOT the Dapper version. (The newest Dapper version no longer build-d

Hi,
looks like that arts is ruling the alsa/oss device. Try to "shut up arts" from
the systemsettings or kcontrol and use alsa only.
But this is OT and should be raised on #kubuntu or #kubuntu-devel and/or the
kubuntu mailinglists.

It's still in consideration whether or not it'll happen. Right now, there's a forum sticky in which I'm documenting my progress towards doing it.Currently, around 50 source packages depend on firefox and will likely require rebuilding. In addition, whether or not security updates can be assured is

Most probably - no. There are too many components depending on Firefox.
For example, I've rebuilt Dapper's 1.4.99+1.5rc3.dfsg-1ubuntu3 for my
Breezy install and Firefox works as a

Yeah thats how I got it to work. Doing it this way lots of googling and
