Public bug reported:
Hi
there's a slight regresion with this backport. I used to have the cube &
rotate plugin. With gnome's workspace switcher applet I could do a
rotation in the cube to another side of the cube (workspace/viewport),
but now I can't. The applet doesn't rotate the cube. The cube
0.88.6 provides a minor bugfix on top of 0.88.5, so it's not that urgent.
For security updates reasons I do not want to make the mistake of
backporting any more clamav releases. At this point I still don't know what
I'm going to do about 0.88.4 in dapper-backports which is vulnerable to
0.88.5's f

I had the same trouble on my old pc ! just installed the .deb file and
everything seems to be fine but the loading logo: it does not appear, my screen
is black! The only way to get it appeared is to add "vga=771" to grub line but
logo is out of screen and at the end of loading get an HAL error..
-> Considering debhelper (>= 5.0.37.2)
Tried versions: 5.0.7ubuntu13
Just an FYI the package will not backport.

It's actually indeed up to date. Edgy's 0.88.4 has been patched with the
security fix mentioned on 0.88.5, which leaves no outstanding security
restrictions.
In addition, Kees Cook of the security team has expressed interest in
keeping clamav in all supported Ubuntu releases patched. This is also
Not a breezy-backports bug, opened Ubuntu bug ticket.
My best guess is that you might be experiencing disk corruption that is
forcing the drive to be mounted read-only. During a read-only boot, look
at dmesg output and see if there's anything peculiar.
Also try booting onto a LiveCD and running a

About every other time I boot with Ubuntu I find that I, and any programs
running, cannot write to disk. A write-protected or read-only message is
returned. Running the boot recovery mode fixes the problem.
This is on an Ubuntu 10.6 ?? loaded with dual boot with 2 SCSI drive

Some important packages - like SugarCRM - need a newer version of php
