prevu uses a much longer sources.list ($dist, -updates, -backports
-security, main restricted universe multiverse) compared to what a
developer would usually use for their personal pbuilders You can see

prevu-init); perhaps try d
I'm not sure about it. I use pbuilder without any trouble and, if I repeat the
init phase, this error happens everytime in the exact point listed in the
attached log.
Could it be something related to pbuilderrc configuration file?

This shows apt-get update fetching a corrupt Packages.bz2 file from
archive.ubuntu.com, which is not a prevu bug. It's either a temporary
failure in the mirror (highly unlikely given that this is the primary
Ubuntu archive) or a corruption introduced by some networking equipment
like a transparent
prevu fails to initialise with default Edgy packages. See attached log.
