When I first requested this backport it was to fix a rather major flaw.
The gui window didn't update to show installed drivers. I suppose I
should have filed a bug report instead. My mistake.

Colors seems ok altough there are small white stripes visible on ip3000,
but positioning is way wrong.
I used Gimp, with built in CD template and then tried to print it.
1. Paper Type - CD, all other settings untouched
Result: image printed one third left off the center
