Thanks for your response and flexibility. After a bit of thought, I
think this is the best way to treat it:
(1) If there are enough testers interested, consider trying a Stable
Release Update to deal with this crash via gutsy-updates, as Backports
really isn't for solving crashing bugs.
(2) When
Ok, based on mlind's comments, looks like this is a 7-package backport?
No need to (in fact, for the love of my Firefox plese don't) file 7
separate backport bugs. Instead, please proceed with testing each of the
7 packages to backport, including *what version was tested* for each.
Thanks.

I'm verifying this backport at the moment. As to the pbuilder error,
make sure you've done a "sudo prevu-update" recently, which is like an
apt-get update in the chroot. Sometimes if your build environment's a
bit too old, superseded security updates can result in that error.

don't have a defined state for this). Fix Committed should be used after
the diff is uploaded into gutsy-backports awaiting archive admin

I am actually doing the same for the time being. I would much rather use
official packages over getdeb. I am sure there are many others that
would benefit from using the newer version, especially laptop users.
