This is a pretty high-risk backport as it's responsible for decoding so
many video formats on the default Ubuntu stack. However, the
combinations of bugfixes and new ffmpeg bundled stack means that it's
not a suitable SRU candidate. (though the h.264 artifact bug is fixable
through a SRU with ease)

Sorry, this cannot be done -- faad2 provides libmp4v2 on Gutsy and
below... I was the one who handled migrating to faad2 in Hardy and it
required rebuilding almost all of the reverse dependency stack for
libmp4v2.

Scott, the debdiffs in comment #25 (not the attached ones) apply against
the respective Hardy versions they are derived from. As of 3 hours ago
we've gotten new Firefox packages in Hardy, which I am *NOT* interested
in backporting right now due to widespread reports on the internet(s) of
CPU usage
