Hi,
I believe I am having a similar problem, although I do not have RAID on
my system. Booting my custom built 2.6.22 works fine, but booting the
current kernel (2.6.24-16 I believe) results in a shell and being told
that the disk cannot be mounted because the device or resource is busy.
I have
Builds, installs, runs on Hardy. Ack from ubuntu-backporters. Source
backport uploaded.

Not all the dependencies for 3.2.4 exist in Dapper. Someone would have
to look into backporting those too.
