Hey guys -
Some quick updates based on assorted recent discussions.
As we move to a world where archive admins use APIs instead of shell
access to do their job, it's no longer really necessary for them to be
processing backports. Colin has said that he is OK with us uploading

Oh, I had no idea that backported packages can't build-dep on other
backports, sorry. :(
Regardless, I would still like to see a backport of irrlicht 1.7.3, not
just because of a number of minor fixes/enhancements in irrlicht itself,
but because previous versions of irrlicht in Ubuntu were built w
Great! I've just installed Gimp 2.8 from laney's PPA
https://launchpad.net/~laney/+archive/ppa
It installs and and runs perfectly so far. I'm happy to help with some of the
dependency testing when I have more time later in the week :-)

Did you upload it to this ppa instead:
https://launchpad.net/~laney/+archive/ppa ??
Or do things from there just automatically move to the other if they work?
Anyway, this didn't build :(

Note that, due to bug #888665, the backport of supertuxkart won't be
able to build from this new version. :(
We can still do the backport(s) though, if you want, and supertuxkart
will build when the bug gets fixed.
What do you think?

As I said qt-sdk is just a meta package to pull in packages that are shipped as
part of the Qt SDK.
It doesn't rely on any specific functionality in Qt Creator so there is nothing
to be tested.

Hi there,
I just uploaded a no-change backport to
https://launchpad.net/~laney/+archive/backports-testing
for you. If it builds, you can get the packages from there to test.
There are, however, quite a lot of reverse dependencies that need
testing so it would be good if those of you who want t

Hi there,
Thanks for your request.
We need to see the reverse deps tested before the backport can be
approved. I'm setting this report to Incomplete for now, but please
reset to New (and edit the description) once you've done the testing.
Thanks!

Hi there Andriy,
I just updated the bug description. You'll see there a few checkboxes
which show the testing that we require before this backport can be
approved. If you can do it, please do so and go ahead and check the
boxes. I'll then be able to approve the backport for you.
Thanks!
