Ok, I've disabled cdrkit patches and did reverted some manpage
references too... I've verified that the package now installs in Dapper
chroot and I was able to burn a DVD from the chroot too, so all looks
good.

The new flashplugin-nonfree (9.0.31.0.1ubuntu1) plugin was uploaded a
few days ago and crimsun suggested that we should backport it for its
bugfixes.
It looks like primarily nonintrusive bugfixes so it should work ok, but
at this point I've yet to test it (that needs to be
Markus, the backport will be overriden by the next version of Ubuntu
when you go to dist-upgrade.
However, the locally installed deb will not get security updates. It is
the responsibility of the person who installed it to track security
updates and manually re-backport them as necessary.

That's the same argument that persuaded me to upload a faulty flash 7
security update I'm not going to approve Flash9 final until someone

To edit the depends of the backport, you need to unpack (apt-get source
packagename) the source package, and edit the debian/control file. In that
file you'll find a Build-Depends line. Everything listed there will be
attempted for installation within the chroot. This is the way all proper
Debian
It's not possible to fix Alsa since it is largely in the kernel (via
Backports, that is) :(
You should instead file a bug against the kernel (linux-source-2.6.15)
and ask for a kernel update.
