Right, of course. Thanks for explaining. Obvious in hindsight :)
I've built the backport for quantal in the same PPA and tested it;
everything seems to work.

Please backport scratch 1.4.0.6~
We'll need to backport to Quantal too, so that users have a clean
upgrade path (that's why the tool added the task which you removed) - a
quick test there would be appreciated if possible.
