I'm marking this as fixed since the upcoming 18.04 will ship with the
latest version of rkhunter. However, I've also marked the Xenial- and
trusty-backport projects as affected (code names for 16.04 and 14.04,

It's important to have the latest version of this utility in Edgy for
security.
Also, version 1.2.8 in Edgy gives an error now when one tries to update
it from the command line via:
sudo rkhunter --update

tweaks and bug fixes made by the debian developers.
