Now, if there's no hardware errors present but you see a 'Kernel Panic'
error:
1. First try to
If something happens with grub, most likely you won't even see a Kernel
panic, you'll see a grub error. Kernel panic *might* happen due to grub if
you have a separate boot and root partition and root partition is wrongly
configured. in this case kernel will fail to find the root partition and

If hard disk is repartitioned, then it has everything to do with grub,
unless the boot partition remains same.
How old is your Hard disk? If very old then probably its dieing .. better
backup your important data and get a new one.
Did you repartitioned your hard disk after installing Ubuntu? If so,
