As Raihan mentioned Cedega is different than WineX. However, it all
depends on the DLLs, if you can find the required DLL you can run many
windows apps under WINE. However, if you know where to look you can
find the Cedega or Crossover package :P
One free alternative to Cedega is PlayOnLinux. You
Shell script should be more smarter.
It should give a hint so that people can resolve it.

I don't think so. Don't want to disappoint any one of you but the
problem is WineX repository is not maintained any more. So the source
available is too old. Meaning even if you successfully compiled it you
won't be able to run new games/application. Besides, Cedega releases
"engine" update

want to inform that Cedega's source is still known as WineX. We can
consider WineX is the open source edition of Cedega.
