Just delete the configuration folder in your home folder and you have a
*fresh* install of that application.
Your setting are never lost in Linux unless
1. you completely remove the application, if you only remove the application
the settings for that application will stay in you user folder.
You need to add a new repo: **deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
Add the repo, reload the list nad then find OO3. Now you can easily upgrade.

Because ibex had code freeze before Oo.o 3 was finalized. However, you will
find some good how-to s if you google it.
