1. Un-install all the installed jre package. (your open office may not
work now or may get uninstalled, use aptitude)
2. Download the proper linux package from Oracle's Sun site.
3. Run the installer.
If you screw up, your netbeans, eclipse, open office etc application
will not work.

Hello,
I'm using Sun Java (Strangely, I don't like the open version of it at
all. Dunno why!). My java version is Java 6 update 20. Installed it from
the multiverse repo.
Question is, how can I update my Java version? How to install Java from
self extracting binaries?
