Hi, I had the same problem and it was just ndiswrapper which refused to
load with the new image.
All I had to do was compile it for the new image and bingo, it worked.

when i shut it down, the KUBUNTU logo show and disappeare several time,and

I've the same exact problem, i have alternately installed xfce4.4 from
the xfce.org installer, and don't have these problems.
Both Xfce-desktop and xfce-menu-plugin, progressively use more memory.
Eventually rendering xfce practically unusable. In my experience each
has reached around 250/300 Mb

can be unstable, ugly, unfriendly, (whatever you want), but CANNOT loose data!

OffHand, it's far from easy to get this right. Current Linux PAM is just
not flexible enough for that, and I doubt that there is a default
restriction scheme which fits everywhere. (See comment 1)

catching the errors does not reveal any useful information. It only shows there
are recurrences in my calendar.
But in .beagle/Log there are several log-files, could these be from any
interest (except showing some information about my computer ;-)

I started with the --fg option and some tracing information appeared on
the console. I could send this, but there is some information I don't
want to appear on google. How to handle?
