Yeah, sounds similar.
So I don't use mdadm, I removed it from the directory, so the bootprocess is
much faster (no wait for timeout).
But it didn't fix my complete hang during the boot process, udev needs to be
executed before the dmraid script, so everything works fine.

I agree for Dapper. Edgy may not be a valid candidate for this patch,
but Dapper sure is. I'm willing to bet that anybody that is deploying
Ubuntu on a large scale level (e.g. companies/universities who are

You have multiple IDE controllers, and one is the JMicron controller
which is causing a lot of problems (bug #84964, etc.).
Your issue sounds very similar to the other bugs raised involving the

Gilles, this is a Feisty system that gets updated very regularly. I
think I installed espeak somewhere during the Feisty development, but
never tried the screen reader (I was thinking about using espeak for
something else actually). The day before yesterday I just got the idea
to try the
Marking as Rejected for tango-icon-theme so only human-icon-theme
remains.

Usually an application in Ubuntu should just prompt you for your ubuntu
password. It is a bug that you're asked to log in as root
You can probably run qparted by running kdesu qtparted or gksudo
qtparted

Thanks for the additional information it would seem that your dhcp is
giving the broadcast as 255.255.255.255 as indicated by: option
broadcast-address 255.255.255.255. Do you have any other dhcp clients
that you could confirm this with?

cause, although i managed to fix it!
It definitely requires SMP on!
It might be necessary to include more debug symbols on ACPI, but i
really can't remember what it was that made it work. Just after some
trials-n-errors i

1) That set +e ... set -e seems -really- bogus.
That forces exit on non-zero exit status from
simple commands, and this script intentionally
invokes some simple commands that might exit
non-zero, such as the expr line on the very next
line
