apt-setup is no longer supported on the installed system; not quite sure

As noted in

when I choose suspend from the gnome-power-manager menu, it seems to be
doing something different from what happens when I click the log out
button applet.
Because
It doesn't crash as such it just plays the radio channel for 10 seconds
then stops and looks like its searching or buffering, but doesn't do
anything. I can't stop it or select another channel as it locks up, so I
have to force a shutdown of the application.

It's still there, but now instead of flickering, the screen dims part

the LCD brightness icon pops up to indicate that full brightness has

KDE uses a workaround in the menu entry which can set custom window
