Perhaps related. I'm using Gutsy on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Si-1520
laptop, and when I plug in a USB drive while the laptop is suspended (to
RAM), the drive powers up.
I've never thought to check whether it stays on when the laptop is

I forgot to say that I'm running the AMD64 kernel. Doesn't seem like it
should matter, but you never know.
(As a temporary work-around, I've added a cron job to root's crontab
that restarts cupsys every 10 minutes. It works for now, but is not

On the desktop I have a symbolic link Immagini to a directory residing on a
win32 file system.
