I just realised I was using pidgin 2.2.0 packages from a third party
distribution. Current Gutsy Pidgin packages, 2.1.x work fine for me
(although my problem may help shed some light on the original reports

I can confirm. My laptop (asus L3800C) has a mobility 7500, and works
with the radeon driver. If I use 24bit colors, I have this limitation,
if I downgrade to 16bit, I can use the native resolution (1400x1050)
with compiz. Probably a lack of memory in the graphics card.

I ran into this same problem yesterday. Although the max size it
allowed me to do was different (around 50GB on an XFS partition). I
ended up throwing in a feisty cd and partitioning it with gparted. I
had other problems trying to do the same with a gutsy tribe 5 cd.
I too used a brand
I've just compiled the latest snapshot of madwifi-ng and with this
driver revision the problem completely vanished for me. With the
original gutsy driver i got 90-100 wakeups per second (wps). With the
new driver i get about 10 wps.

Was fixed prior to gutsy update 17/09/2007 by deleting evms and evms-

I have several drives in my machine. From each drive, I've symlinked a
few folders into my home folder. There seems to be no way to tell
trackerd to automatically follow these without manually specifying the
