I am also concerned by this bug.
I found that it occurs when I add a Web Calendar (Google Calendar to be
precise), and reboot the laptop. Everytime I log into Gnome, the
evolution-data-server take 100% cpu and I must do evolution --force-
shutdown to stop it.

When tried to open 1024 x 768 jpeg image, an error prompts.
These are the following GIMP messages on the dialog window:

Thanks Basilio. Rebooting seems to have solved the problem! I can't
remember the last time I had to do that on an Ubuntu box... :)
Do you think this was a dbus issue? I don't know how I'll reproduce this
now, so should we close this bug?

gnome-panel breaks after disabling Xgl in gutsy
I installed linux-image-2.6.24-4-generic today (2.6.24-4.7) and couldn't
get to boot it at all. :-( With ACPI enabled it hangs at the same place
as it did before (see attached screenshot). With acpi=off and acpi=ht it
hung after detecting my CD drive.

Same here, except that the bug did *not* go away with a reinstall.
Note to future reporters: please run the attached PyKDE4 script on your
system to check that KGlobalSettings.desktopPath() really returns
/home/'usr'/Desktop. In my case it does, which means that the problem
actually lies inside

I have a similar problem installilng gutsy on an older 32bit amdk6-2+
bus mouse. I could not move the cursor over the install icon to click
install on the first start up screen. My solution was to use my old
edgy disk and it's fine with edgy. I pulled over 32bit gutsy Jan 15
2008 or so. Ian.
