I had created a real package virtualbox-ose-modules, instead of the
previous virtual one. This was a mistake though, and currently (since
virtualbox-ose-modules 16) the binary
Seems that the current hardy package, version 1.06, defaults to ~/Desktop
So I am closing this bug.

Very comparable failure on my machine - SCIM seems to be not very
functional. It's initialization and code page changing code seems to
trigger this off.

I upgraded my laptop from Ubuntu 7.10 to Ubuntu 8.04 (Alpha 6) using
update-manager -c -d, which went fine. After the upgrade completed, I
was told to reboot the machine and that's what I did. After the reboot I
entered my username / password at the login prompt, which then
