I also had problems in karmik, the device is gPhoto instead gphoto ( notice the
capital L). It also takes a couple of seconds
to umount so I added it to the exec.
I fixed my gthumb-import.desktop in karmik like this:

Cannot boot 9.10 with ACPI
Using version 0.3+svn17-3 in karmic...
/usr/bin/mousetrap references /usr/bin/python2.5, which isn't installed.
Changing the reference to /usr/bin/python2.6 or /usr/bin/python and
running gives the error

I had something similar to this problem in Karmic with cups
1.4.1-5ubuntu2. It turned out to be a corrupt file ~/.cups/lpoptions.
Deleting this file fixed my problem.

Funny, I was just searching if this one was reported yesterday and since
it wasn't (then) I planned on reporting it today. Will report it
upstream (I have tested with a git-master which admittedly isn't much
different from 1.0.4).

Luit hangs on process exit
I installed and tried the 2.6.31-rc5 kernel following the instructions found in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/MainlineBuilds, but it was a disaster...I
got a message saying that ubuntu runs in low graphics, etc...so I removed the
new kernel.
I changed the monitor to a DELL E177FP connected
Maybe the probelm is more wpa_supplicant related, see here for instance
(there is a workaround to try) :

After upgrading to 10.4 my Dell XPS M1330 won't shutdown, but gets stuck
in a text screen, the last line is something about usplash exiting. I
have to manually power down the computer. Although it won't shutdown,
reboot seems to work, although it also spends quite some time
