Since Ubuntu is about humanity and we actually have an african roots, I figured this project might interest most of us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc
It's a documentary of about 30 minutes about an action group named "Invisible Children" who are doing everything possible to make Kony famous. Kony is a Rebel Leader who abducts kids in their sleep and forces the boys to fight and the girls to become sexslaves. Now, I know the mailinglist isn't supposed to be used for propaganda, but this felt slightly different because the message at the end of documentary is a call for volunteers. I'm not saying we should act on this as Ubuntu-be, but I figured there are some people on this mailinglist who, just like me, do want to get involved in this project. There is a facebook event to "coördinate" the action on april 20: http://www.facebook.com/events/283826705021331/ I do believe this is relevant for the Ubuntu community, because the children of today (no matter from where they are) are the ubuntu users of tomorrow. That and mainly the fact that every child deserves a decent childhood and an even better future drive me to send you all this mail. I'd like to apologize though for propagating through this medium, it just seemed the most convenient way to reach all interested fellow ubuntueros. Kind regards Wouter Vandenneucker
