I might have found a solution to this.
When I created a new user and tried suspending I finally got to see an
error message stating that saned would be disabled and a disconnect from
Plymouth.
All I did was activating etc/default/saned and now it works!

Ubuntu detects this as a failure to resume from suspend, but the issue
is actually slightly different. Specifically, the issue is that the
notebook fails to shutdown before the battery runs out,

I get this error every time I start my Ubuntu 13.10 with Mir installed
and updated a few minutes ago. I saw other bugs like this opened, but
marked as invalid cause of invalid stacktrace, like bug #1218386 and bug
#1217573. I hope this bug will not.

You are correct - on lxde, the repaired file works just right. But not on
gnome. On gnome, even when I remove the lyx layout, reboot, and then re-add it,
the 1-8 number keys are not recognised,
Do you have any clue about how to even approach this problem?

The Hebrew lyx layout lack 1-8 numbers

The problem is that this is not really a gnome bug. I can't just go to
gnome bugzilla and say that there is a problem in gnome because it does
not auto-update its cached data after I manually edit the X keyboard
layouts - this is not something a regular user would do.
I would like to find out how

When i press printScreen button it takes a screen shot of desktop and
popup save image window with a white preview. After Saving the image
when i open that file with a image viewer, it was also white. I also
tried to use alt+printS but same result.

I'm seeing this on 3.8.0-19-generic at Amazon EC2 as well. It's very
reproducible (happens every time), and it causes a bizarre
(theoretically impossible) state for my sockets. I have a client and a
server on separate machines, both running Ubuntu 13.04 on EC2, and
shortly into a stress test, all
FrancisT, the Raring kernel currently in the -proposed (3.8.0-31.46)
pocket already contains the fix. It should be released soon, if no
regressions are found.
